English is part of our National Curriculum it starts with children learning it at a very young age and put it to use for the rest of their academic life.
We focus and specialise in developing students’ skills in reading, writing, vocabulary as well as SPAG (spelling, punctuations and grammar)
How do you ask?
In reading our students are exposed to a wide range of texts from story extracts to reports, letters and many more. Because we believe the skill to analyse a text is a power.
Writing has no end or limitations. We use writing in everyday life so it must be taught well. At Summit students learn to write for various purposes and audiences whilst doing so we make sure SPAG is at its best.
When teaching primary English we aim to build a strong foundation in language and literacy which is crucial for students in both academic and personal growth
